(GOLDEN HIND PRESS). LAMB, Charles - Grace before Meat. From the Essays of Elia.

Title: Grace before Meat. From the Essays of Elia.
Description: (Madison, NJ, Golden Hind Press, 1931.). Original marbled boards. 32 pp. Hand-set in the Deepdene and privately printed byArthur Rushmore on Hand & Arrows paper in 75 numbered copies. With an initial printed in red. Binding somewhat worn at the spine and edges, covers discolored.. This Christmas gift from Arthur W. Rushmore (1883-1955) was destined in handwriting by him for Frank MacGregor. Rushmore was for a long time head of design for the major American publisher Harper Bros., but also had his own margin printing company. He thus fits in the tradition of the great American typographers of the interwar period, Frederic W. Goudy, Bruce Rogers and Daniel Berkeley Updike, who all enjoyed their own private presses.
