A fulsome advertisement for this 'startling book about the Japanese-Chinese war', the Dutch translation. ‘Grain and Soldiers’ was written by the Imperial Japanese Army Corporal Ashihei Hino (pseud. of Katsunori Tamai), and translation into Dutch by Reinier P. Sterkenburg. This now fairly rare novel, about how Japanese soldiers had fought the Chinese, appeared in 1940. On the back of the poster the layout of the book is shown with two extensive press eulogies.
