Short inscription on page aii ("... third book from Rotterdam 1748 ..."). Two ex libris plates. Some small spots as to be expected for a book of this age. With 199 plates/plans and views. Missing three plates from the last part but with two additional plates added to the second part. First volume (of two). With two folding plates. Each part (Picardie, Champagne, Lorraine, Bretagne, Normandy, l'isle de France and Brie) starts with a titlepage followed by a page describing the contents. Sometimes these two pages are included in the page of contents. The 199 plates/plans/views mentioned are the actual number (not counting the title pages or pages with contents). The first plate (folding plate of France) of the first part is bound prior to the title page. Plate with a view of Paris is also folding. Reverse sides of plans/maps/views blank.
