This book chronicles the story of Tregaron, an estate in the Cleveland Park neighborhood of Washington, DC. Designed by Charles Adam Platt, the mansion was built in 1912 for Ohio industrialist James Parmelee and his wife, Alice. The estate features beautiful gardens designed by Platt and Ellen Biddle Shipman. In 1940, Joe Davies and Marjorie Merriweather Post bought the estate. Davies was the US Ambassador to the USSR from 1936-38. Marjorie Merriweather Post was the heiress to the Post cereal fortune, later General Foods. Most recently, the estate has become the home of the Washington International School. VG. Light corner bumping.
