Introduction (Testimony of The Monthly-Meeting of Friends in Philadelphia..) penned by Israel Pennington. Followed by a Title-page announcing "A Journal, or Personal Account, of The Life, Travels, and Christian Experiences of the Antient (sic), Faithful Servant of Jesus Christ, Thomas Chalkley.." then followed by "The Works of Thomas Chalkley, Part II." This is a worn copy of a very rare book, printed soon after Franklin took in Hall as a partner in his printing business and handed over the day-to-day operations to Hall. Worldcat locates 1 copy of this first edition, often re-printed. scant writing inside the front cover in ancient ink. Fair only, with defects: title-page loose, lacks ffep, 273-274, 325-326, 327-328 (title-page to second part), possible the last 36 pp (though no indication that they were ever bound in.) Sold as a relic of Benjamin Franklin's press ONLY.
