It includes key works from Pop Art, Arte Povera, Minimal Art and Concept Art. The couple Lauffs built them up since the late sixties, advised by Paul Wember, who as director of the Kaiser Wilhelm Museum Krefeld (later expanded by the Museum Haus Lange) showed significant contemporary artists. The collection gives a unique overview of the art of the sixties and seventies. It has been continually expanded to include significant works of contemporary art and builds a bridge between artistic positions in Europe and the United States.
