The American Numismatic Society and its curator of medals, Hentry Grunthal, kindly listed pieces in its collection, loaned some of the rarer French references and supplied photographs of many of its pieces. We are sincerely indebted to Jean Babelon, Chief Curator of medals of the Bibliotheque Nationale of Paris, for supplying us with a list of Lafayette medals in the Cabinet Medailles. We are also indebted to Max M. Schwartz and Lionel Rudduck for the loan of several medals. Good, some signs of age such as discoloration of edges, pages in excellent condition .
