Pubblicando "La scuola dei Carracci dall' Accademia alla bottega di Ludovico" si è provveduto a dividere in due ciò che probabilmente deve essere considerato un solo argomento ma, ragioni di opportunità grafico-editoriali, un libro di dimensioni sovrabbondanti, data la vastità del materiale hanno fatto sì che si dovesse percorrere questa strada. Prima parte dedicata agli artisti legati alle vicende iniziali dell'Accademia: dai Desiderosi agli Incamminati, quando i tre Carracci partecipavano congiuntamente alla conduzione dell' impresa, e ai non pochi che rimasero a Bologna sotto la guida del solo Ludovico. Precisando che per quanto attiene al più celebrato degli artisti allievi dell'Accademia: Guido Reni, si fa riferimento al solo periodo di alunnato. Stesso criterio verrà utilizzato per quei tanti famosi, di cui esistono già importanti monografie, da enumerarsi nella seconda parte dedicata al gruppo che al seguito di Annibale opererà e si evolverà principalmente a Roma: "La scuola dei Carracci: i seguaci di Annibale a Roma" volume, questo, di prossima pubblicazione.
