Title: Viage de Espana: En Que Se Da Noticia de Las Cosas Mas Apreciables, Y Dignas de Saberse, Que Hay En Ella
Description: Madrid, Por D. Joachin Ibarra, Impresor de Camara, se Hallara con los Demas de Esta Obra en su Imprenta, 1794. Some First Edition (See Comments). Hardcover. Navy blue leather and marbled paper boards with gilt lettering; Eighteen, 18mo volumes; richly illustrated. Text in Spainish. Volumes 10-18 were published by: Por La Viuda de Ibarra, Hijos, y Compania. Volumes 1, 10, 11, 12 and 13 are SECOND EDITION. The remainder are First Edition. Overall a very attractive set with great shelf appeal. These 18 volumes detail the travels in Spain exclusively. Two additional volumes (19 and 20, not present with these) detail the author's travel in other European countries. Bookplates inside front covers indicate these volumes originated in the library of English Art Collector, William Fuller Maitland of Stansted Hall. VG (These volumes are in great condition, even considering their age. Boards are edgeworn and shelfworn, with some volumes having been worn through at the corners and worn at the spine ends, but all are very nicely and firmly intact; gilt lettering and design on the spine is still very visible and has not been worn off; inner hinge is cracked at the rear cover of vol. 18; some covers are starting; each volume has very minimal markings and a bookplate from former owner ifc; textblock edges are lightly toned and foxed; interiors are lightly toned with some light foxing, as expected with age; aside from the cracked inner hinge in vol. 18, the remainder of volumes appear to have surprisingly solid binding.) .
