Some darkening and heavy foxing to plates. Color tinted maps remain folded, but edges darkened and rubbed with some chipping/tears. Numerous black and white plates. A wonderful collection of arcane, historical knowledge. Decorative gilt remains bright. Volume III: Eng.--- Hun. Good (boards have scuffs & scratches w/ various deeper rubbs & chips; edges rubbed. spine ends & corners harshly rubbed. rubbing to raised bands w/ small indentation to top band. hinge paper cracking; back board rattled w/ upper & middle cracked, though, joints remain intact. pgs remain fairly bright) .
