Volume 1 has 13 plates with one being a four panel fold-out. Volume 2 has 12 plates, with plate IX (Sainte Cecile) missing. Frontispieces of each volume intact. Tissue-guards intact, but tanned. Both volumes have bright, white pages with speckled or spotted foxing concentrated primarily to edges. Inscription to Volume 1 flyleaf, and editor's note both date this at 1877, though, title page is 1878. A nice set of the French sculptor, Pierre-Jean David, who adopted the name, David d'Angers. VG- (boards smudged/stained & scratched, tanning to edges; edge-wear. corners rubbed; spine ends rubbed. speckled foxing to upper textblock; lower textblock scuffed & scratched. vol1 & 2 back hinge split, binding still intact, hinges firm. some pastedowns have paper remnants as if ex-libris was removed.) .
