A appears to be a custom binding with the name plate of P.C. Ward. This edition comprises Volume 1, Number 1 through Number 26. Each issue is approximately 8 pages. There are various instances of aged tape repair and tattered edges, corners and one section cut from margins that does not affect the text. Number 24, page 190 is missing a half section. The 'Ariel plate' of issue 12 is detached and laid-in. There are instances of pencil notations and marginalia. Foxing primarily to edges, though, there are dark, spotted instances to text. Text remains dark and detailed. In later life, the editor, Walter Ellwood became a prominent insurance company president, active in the marine business. A pilot boat, Ellwood Walter No. 7, was named after him.
