The section on paintings is divided into The Artist and His Family; The Early Years, Through the Thirties; and The Forties and After. Includes a list of the paintings. Excellent, rich and clear color plates. Excellent insight into Soyer as a person and his inspiration from the lives and suffering of everyday people.
