An account of the life of a prisoner in the Kingston Penitentiary in Canada, recounted by Oswald Withrow a doctor and birth control activist who was incarcerated for performing abortions. Withrow wrote this memoir partially in response to prison riots in the 1930s, exposing the harsh conditions in prison, with the hope of initiating prison reform. GOOD+ condition. Minor toning, fading and edgewear to the book, including some small dings along the extremities. Several light orange spots of staining to the endpapers. Good .
