Author: Various Authors Title: Cleaver Course Position Paper
Description: Berkeley, Center for Participant Education and Individuals Representing the Campus Community, Publisher, 1968. Wraps. States October 1968 on the last page. Side folding booklet. 12 pp. A work speaking against the regents of UC Berkeley, who created rules in the Fall of 1968 that effectively barred Eldridge Cleaver, a leader in the Black Panther Party at that time, from lecturing on campus. The regents reacted to pressure from then governor, Ronald Reagan. The piece looks at the history of the board, their links to big business and desire to suppress other points of views. While Cleaver was supposed to give ten lectures, he eventually gave six, partly as a result of successful student strikes on campus. VERY GOOD condition. Minor toning, wrinkling and creasing. Very Good .
