Author: Spencer, Ronn; Sculatti, Gene et al. Title: White Noise. Volume 1, Number 1. November 1977
Description: Hollywood, White Noise, 1977. Wraps. Color illustrated wraps. 15 by 11 ½ inches. 12 pp. including covers. Black and white photos throughout. Debut issue of this early punk/proto-punk zine from California. Created by rock journalist Gene Sculatti, and designer/artist Ronn Spencer. Given that Spencer was influenced by Dada and Situationism, this zine reflects that aesthetic, including the front cover lie about the number of pages. Ronn Spencer was responsible for the design of the US version of the Sex Pistols' album, and along with a few others, founded White Noise Records, an early label devoted to punk in the LA area. Verbal and visual hijinks abound in this issue, including some pieces tangential to the punk scene. GOOD condition. Faint vertical crease along the spine, with a few other creases and wrinkles. Minor toning. Some foxing, spotting and soiling. Good .
