Title: Both Sides Now. Number 12. August-September, 1971
Description: Jacksonville, FL, Both Sides Now, Publisher, 1971. Tabloid. 24 pp. Photos and illustrations throughout. Single issue of this haphazardly published "counter-cultural (underground) newspaper," from Jacksonville, Florida. Despite the small audience of like minds in Jacksonville, Florida, the FBI felt the paper was enough of a threat to form its own underground paper to compete with Both Sides Now, publishing two issues before giving up. Front cover depicts Nixon as one of the Easy Riders (film), with an article looking at the Pentagon Papers and Nixon's morality. Another piece looks at the rise of drug use in the US, especially heroin, pondering if there is a connection to the ongoing Vietnam War (as far as supply goes). Also present is a reprinted interview with John Lennon that first appeared in the UK's Red Mole. GOOD condition. Mailing cancellations and stamping along the upper rear edge. Moderate uneven general toning. Horizontal fold crease present. Some wear along the edges. Good .
