Description: Los Angeles, ACT UP/L.A. Unbound. AIDS Coalition to Unleash Power Present a Benefit for ACT UP event postcard/handbill. 5 ½ by 4 ¼ inches. Printed on a single side only. A small piece advertising a benefit concert for ACT UP featuring L7, Ethyl Meat Plow, Linda Lasarbe and Vena Cava. No date but presumed circa 1992 based on the fact that L7 is listed as being with Slash/Warner Brothers and not Sub Pop. The show was held on Thursday, August 22nd at the Hungry Dragon Club. ACT UP is an organization that was founded in New York in 1987, with the goal of helping those living with AIDS, through advocacy, medical treatment and research, direct action through protests and events, etc. L7 is an all female band that formed in the mid 1980s in LA. Although sometimes associated with the grunge and riot grrrl music scenes, they preceded both, and blazed their own unique path and style. VERY GOOD+ condition. Minor toning and fading. Very Good .
