A single issue of this Ohio underground newspaper, formed in 1968 with a focus on anti-war articles and news. Due to a perceived embrace of violence within the peace protests, staff split from the paper and formed the Queen City Express. This issue with an article on the attempted escape of Jonathan Jackson, William Christmas and others in the San Rafael courthouse in California, endorsing their efforts while discussing the heavy handed police action. The paper also prints coverage of the funeral of Jonathan Jackson, offering a community perspective, as well as quotes from Black Panther Party leaders. Another piece, reprinted from the Black Panther newspaper, discusses police and military action against Black people in Detroit, while another column also quotes the Black Panthers on police and the Black Panthers free breakfast program; another piece reprints a two page Gay Manifesto from the LA Free Press; coverage of the Free People's Festival of Joy , local news, etc. GOOD condition. Ex-library with some library stamping/markings on the front cover. Horizontal fold crease present, rather misfolded. Moderate toning. Moderate chipping and tearing along the extremities. Address stamp on the lower rear cover. Good .
