The journal was founded in 1916 by Carter Woodson, providing one of the first venues for the publication of works devoted to the African American experience. It is still published today, in the name "The Journal of African American History." These issues include articles such as: "The influence of Garrisonian Abolitionists' Fears of Slave Violence on the Antislavery argument;" "The IWW and the Black Worker;" "the cultural impact of the Howard Theatre on the Black community;" "Contested Neighborhoods and Racial Violence: Prelude to the Chicago Riot of 1919," etc. GOOD condition, ex-library. Library stamps on the page edges, along with a few in the interior. Light fading to the covers. Good .
