The exposition was held with the intent of promoting French colonial efforts around the world, with recreations of various indigenous structures, and the inclusion of indigenous artists. Part of the purpose was to counter criticism that France exploited and oppressed its colonial holdings, and glossed over France's efforts to assimilate other cultures. GOOD condition. Aforementioned remains of glue present on the rear cover. General toning, minor soiling, wrinkling and creasing to the covers. Uneven moderate to heavy toning in the interior. Good .
