Various Authors - Loaded Vol. III No. 1. November 1972

Title: Loaded Vol. III No. 1. November 1972
Description: Santa Cruz, Loaded Collective, Publisher, 1972. Wraps. Side folding wraps. 32 pp. including covers. Front cover depicts Mickey Mouse wearing a Richard Nixon watch. A few illustrations throughout. Single issue of a zine style underground publication, produced at UC Santa Cruz. The Loaded Collective appears to have been a group of students at the University of California, Santa Cruz, perhaps also affiliated with student socialist organizations on the same campus. This includes Barbara Zheutlin, Stephanie Graham, Jeff Snyder, Mike Fox, Mike Rotkin, Bruce Dancis, Lorna Hall, and Vicki Bolam, according to Santa Cruz Museum of Art and History archive. The newsletter tackled various radical and left-wing subjects, including antiwar, political and social issues. This issue adopts a more zine-like aesthetic, with clip art, varying fonts and font colors, etc. Includes pieces on the struggles of Ruchell Magee against the prison and justice system; a look at the use of drugs by psychiatrists to "treat" homosexuality, etc. GOOD condition. Uneven toning, minor wrinkling and soiling to the covers. Small area of drip staining to the lower front cover. Good .
