Black and white illustrations throughout, some, if not all perhaps by Thomas Howland Mumford. A collection of short tales and verse about various people and subjects, including wounded sailors, the London cabman, the drayman, the street sweeper, the flower pot man, the coal vessel at the wharf, Nyl Ghau hunting, etc. POOR condition. Heavy uneven fading and discoloration to the covers, especially the lower front cover. Minor to moderate staining and some soiling. Heavy scuffing, fraying and splitting to the cloth along the extremities. Cloth backstrip MISSING. Covers weakly attached to the text block. Heavy dampstaining to the endpapers, with moderate scattered staining, foxing and soiling throughout. Spotting to the page edges. Poor/No Jacket.
