Bibliographic records and OCLC records indicate a Baltimore edition with 48 pp. although other records show a New York imprint with the same publisher/address as this, undated but apparently 1820, and containing 36 pages. This indicates this pamphlet is most likely lacking leaf 35/36 and perhaps anything after. Small illustrations throughout, a few colored by hand. A collection of poems for children, passing on life lessons, parental teaching and musing on nature and people. POOR condition, lacking the aforementioned pages, with the large piece torn off leaf 5/6 noted and leaf 33/34 DETACHED and laid in. Moderate fading, minor soiling and staining to the wrappers. Heavy creasing and edgewear, with some loss at the corners. Side sewn binding coming undone and somewhat fragile. Sporadic pencil underlining throughout, with doodles on the rear inside cover and some colored ink staining to a few pages. Scattered soiling and minor staining throughout. Overall a very worn, incomplete copy. Reference copy at best. Poor .
