Title: Symphony No. 6. Op. 53 Study Score
Description: Radio Ciy, New York, Leeds Music Corporation, 1946. Wraps. Blue printed wraps. 150 pp. The orchestra score to Dmitri Shostakovich's Sixth Symphony, Op. 53, composed in 1939. As the introduction states, the work may have been inspired by Vladimir Mayakovsky's poem 'Vladimir Ilyich Lenin.' Dmitri Shostakovich was Soviet Russian composer in the mid 20th century, often at odds with the Communist Party, with he and he work being officially denounced on several occasions. Despite the threats to his career and life Shostakovich kept composing, eventually earning favor with the Communist Party, although bearing criticism for potentially yielding to the government critics. GOOD condition. Mostly minor soiling to the covers, with general fading, minor creasing and scuffing. Some creasing/slight curling along the extremities. Interior solid with some toning to the paper. Good .
