A catalog for a 1916 auction held by Heartman's featuring items relating to the American Revolution, 'The American Traveller,' from 1770; 'A Letter from South Carolina,' from 1710; Native American items, etc. Charles Heartman was an American bookseller, operating in Vermont and New York before relocating to New Jersey. He was noted for his knowledge and developments in the field of rare books, including African-American material (University of Southern Mississippi Libraries website). GOOD condition. Center vertical crease present. Minor to moderate soiling to the covers, heavier to the front, with dark offsetting/soiling along the front cover extremities. Minor creasing and general browning.
