A study of higher (college) education available to women in the United States at the end of the 19th century, examining both coed schools and schools for women, and providing statistics of enrollment numbers, number of colleges available, etc. Thomas also studys trends, curriculum and other topics related to women's education. Martha Carey Thomas was a noted 19th century feminist, suffragist and educator, serving as the second president of Bryn Mawr College. GOOD condition. Heavy chipping to the wrapper along the front fore edge, with loss along its lower half. A half moon chip missing from the center rear cover fore edge. Moderate offsetting/darkening along the extremities Minor soiling. Wrappers chipped and split along the front hinge, with some loss. Good .
