Title: The National Protestant Magazine. June, 1845. Vo1 2. No. 2
Description: New York, No Publisher, 1845. Wraps. Illustrated wraps. Pagination runs 203-216, with two full page illustrations preceding the text. Both are rather graphic depictions of people being persecuted in Lithuania (being suspended and burned over a fire) and in Scotland (four hanged men). A single issue of this decidedly anti-pope magazine, recalling various historical acts of atrocity supposedly committed by different popes, as well as current actions and beliefs being put forth by the papacy. GOOD condition. Small numerical pencil notation on the front cover, with an ownership signature in ink to the rear. Minor soiling, with a few stains to the wraps and interior. Tiny hole at the upper corner. Wraps split at the lower binding. Interior solid with a large, light dampstain affecting the lower third of the pages. Good .
