Description: London, George Bell and Sons, 1880. Hard Cover. Original cloth hard cover. 660 pages including index. With pages of ads in the front and rear. All illustrated plates present as called for. A work containing descriptions of various battles throughout English history from, as the title states, William the Conqueror to the Battle of Inkermann. Extremities moderately scuffed with some fraying and bumping present especially at the corners. Binding cracked the front interior hinge and at page 224/25. Cover is attached to the text block but is weakened. Frontispiece and one page of ads preceding it are DETACHED and laid in. Numerical pencil notation on the title page. Text block solid with some darkening to the pages and minor scattered soiling. Page xiii torn at the fore edge, affecting some of the text. Fair/No Jacket.
