Koch | München, 20 November 1921" Carpentier Alting was an important Dutch freemason being Grandmaster of the Dutch order from 1926 until his death in 1929. Also the date is remarkable in the midst of political turmoil in Germany where freemasonry would go down fast being seen as part of the Jewish-Communist conspiracy. Note that the succesor of Carpentier Alting, Grandmaster Van Tongeren, would die in a concentration camp. Two bookplates of which one maconic on the inside. Part of the inscription faded.
