Born in London into a literary family—his sister, Eleanor Farjeon, was a celebrated children's author—Farjeon wrote over sixty novels, short stories, and plays. He is best remembered for his atmospheric and suspenseful narratives, notably the classic mystery novel Mystery in White (1937). Many of his works, distinguished by engaging plots and vivid characterisation, have experienced renewed popularity through reissues by the British Library's Crime Classics series..
