He studied theater studies at the University of Munich and subsequently worked as an advertising designer and manager. After spending time abroad, he settled in Baden-Baden as a freelance writer. In addition to his literary works, Flaig produced radio programs for Südwestfunk. His notable publications include the novels "Ausverkauf im Paradies" (1985) and "Laura oder Die Liebe zum Quartett" (1990) , as well as the poetry collection "Windfänger" (1998)..
