Born in England, she became a leading authority on medicinal plants and herbal remedies in the early 20th century. She founded and ran the Whins Medicinal and Commercial Herb School and Farm in Chalfont St. Peter, Buckinghamshire, where she trained students and cultivated a wide variety of medicinal herbs. During World War I, she played a key role in promoting the cultivation of medicinal plants to support wartime medical needs. Her book, A Modern Herbal, first published in 1931, remains a classic reference work, detailing the uses, cultivation, and history of hundreds of herbs. It continues to be widely used by herbalists and botanists today. Mrs. Grieve's contributions helped revive interest in traditional herbal medicine, bridging the gap between historical botanical knowledge and modern herbalism.. Good with no dust jacket .
