Born in Leipzig, Germany, he studied zoology and psychology, embarking on 51 expeditions across continents including Borneo, Africa, Madagascar, India, Nepal, Australia, Greenland, Antarctica, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, the Galápagos Islands, Chile, Canada, New Zealand, Yucatán, and the USA. Throughout his career, Dröscher authored over 30 books, translated into more than 20 languages, with total sales exceeding 8 million copies. His works provided vivid portrayals of over 5,000 animal species, reflecting the latest findings in international research. Notable titles include "Die freundliche Bestie" (The Friendly Beast) , "Magie der Sinne im Tierreich" (Magic of the Senses in the Animal Kingdom) , and "Wie menschlich sind Tiere" (How Human Are Animals). Dröscher also contributed to television, creating series such as "Afrikanische Tierwelt" (African Wildlife) and "Dröschers Tierwelt" (Dröscher's Animal World).
