Born in County Longford, Ireland, he trained as a teacher at Marlborough Training College in Dublin. His teaching career was interrupted by World War I, during which he served as a driver in the Royal Field Artillery and fought on the Somme. After the war, he married Linda Selina Fletcher and settled near her family in Sandiacre, Derbyshire, where he resumed teaching. In his spare time, Lenehan wrote detective stories, publishing his first two novels, The Marked Pistol and The Tunnel Mystery, in 1929. Over the next decade, he authored twelve detective novels and one light fiction novel, The Joyful Jays (1941). His works often featured characters such as Detective Inspector Kilby and private investigator Charlie Ryan. Lenehan passed away in 1943.. Good with no dust jacket .
