Description: London, E.G. "to be sold by John Williams, at the signe of the Crane in Saint Pauls Church-yard", 1641. Sixth Edition. 0 pp. Hardcover. Good in leather binding (appears to be 18th century) with wear to 5 bands on spine and to edges of boards and spine, starting to front inside at pastedown and after front endpaper. Mild rubbing to boards and cracking of leather to spine. Name of former owner ("Hannah Ritter Her Book") stamped to top of first page of text. Bindiing is tight and text is quite readable. Age shows some discoloration of pages but no foxing, no markings. The first book has 264 pages of text. Two pages, "262" and "263", are misnumbered "268" and "269". Following is a 2-page list of "names of authors cited in this booke" and 8 pages of "A Table of the Severall texts of Scripture explained in the six bookes". The second book, The "Archaeologiae Atticae Libri Septum." is the fourth edition, dated 1654 on the title page. "Printed by Leo Litchfield and Hen. Hall for John Adams and Edward Forrest, Oxford." It has 376 pages and 8-page "Index Vocabulorum". The third book, "Romanae HIstoriae Anthologia." is "newly revised and enlarged by the author / Printed by Henry Lichfield for Henry Cripps". Two-page introduction to the third book, by Godwin, is in Latin. Twenty-four page "Index Rerum and Verborum". Since published nearly 400 years ago, this three-volume binding is in remarkably good condition. Good.
