Description: London, Printed for T. Cadell and W. Davies, 1819. First Edition. 0 pp. Hardcover. All three volumes are very good in paper-covered boards with a brown paper spine with a printed paper label. Wear to the edges and the tips and some brief soiling. Scattered minor imperfections. All three volumes contain the bookplate of Frederick Whiley Hilles, who was the Bodman Professor of English Literature at Yale and the editor of the 1929 Cambridge edition of Reynolds' letters. Hilles later worked for the U.S. Army intelligence service at Bletchley Park. Volume 2 also contains the ownership signature of Ellman Thomson, and volume three has the signature of J. Ellman Shoreson (?).
