Light wear to spine where disbound and short closed tear to foredge of front cover (DOES NOT touch portrait of Commodore George Dewey by Edward B. Edwards). The two illustrations by Remington show his outstanding talent for creating images at night: "Watching the Big Search-Lights in Havana" and "Wigwagging with a Dark Lantern--After-Deck." Also of note, "Map of the Klondike Gold Fields" by Tappan Adney. Also, a "Note from the Blockade" (brief note with portrait of first two prisoner of the Spanish-American War, A;pril 25, 1898 by R.F. Fogbaum). Near Fine.
