Ex-library hardcover books that have been rebacked with brown cloth, retaining their original leather-tipped boards. Titles and call numbers handwritten on spines and corners scuffed. Slits forming in the front edge of volume 1's spine, but the hinge itself is not cracked; binding is tight across the set. Each volume contains the bookplate of the Chicago Theological Seminary, as well as a call number and card pocket. Pages toned and brittle with age; some tiny chips off page edges, not affecting the text, which is otherwise unmarked. Good, sturdy reading condition. Selected writings of Origen translated into German, from the series BIBLIOTHEK DER KIRCHENVATER. Each volume measures approx. 6.4" x 4.7". Text is in the Gothic-style fraktur font.
