The adjacent endpaper is nearly detached, but the rest of the binding is tight. Owners' stamps and inscriptions on endpapers as well. Underlining in pencil on many pages. Still in good reading condition. The scarce original edition, complete in two volumes. The author was Bishop of Gloucester as well as Honorary Chaplain to Queen Victoria near the end of her life.
