Edges and foredges rubbed and occasionally bumped. Owner's stamp inside. A few volumes have closed tears at the top of the spine. Many volumes' inner hinges were cracked, but have been reglued and are tight enough for reading and handling. Text is clean and unmarked across the set. A standard Protestant biblical commentary by Joseph S. Exell (1849-1910), a minister and prolific editor who was also involved with THE PULPIT COMMENTARY. Includes only 45 volumes (of 56). LACKS Samuel, Kings, Psalms vol. 2, Ecclesiastes, Song of Songs, Isaiah vol. 2, Daniel, and the Old Testament index. However, the New Testament is complete with index. This vintage edition is undated, but likely from around 1900. Good .
