Edges lightly rubbed; gilt spine text has faded slightly with age. Tiny nick in the cloth at the head of volume 1's spine. Light, indented rub mark at bottom of volume 2's spine. Church bookplates inside both volumes' front covers, and owner's stamps on first blank endpapers. Otherwise, text clean and binding tight. The Scottish publisher's last work, complete in two volumes and illustrated with lots of black and white engravings. Originally published in 1864; this edition appears to be from around the 1880s-90s. Very Good .
