Large, spotty stains on back cover and wear at spine ends. LACKS the paper spine label. Endpapers foxed; faint owner's signature on front free endpaper, and rear free endpaper is torn. Pencil notes on rear pastedown. Spotty stains on all page corners, and all pages deeply tanned with age. Text still legible, and binding tight. A sturdy, readable copy of a rare title. A scarce anti-Catholic work originally published in a New York City newspaper under the name "Brutus." The author, Samuel Morse (1791-1872) was the inventor of Morse code. He was also a staunch anti-Catholic and Nativist, opposing immigration from Catholic countries. This book is a compilation of his anti-Catholic newspaper columns. Measures approx. 6.2" x 4. Good .
