Description: Philadelphia, J.M. Stoddart & Co, 1881. Revised Edition. Hardcover. 3 vols. 609p; 639p; 524p. A set of three hardcover books bound in rusty-orange cloth. FAIR CONDITION. The covers and foredges are smoke-stained, with dark, hazy discoloration. Volume 3 has the most discoloration, affecting the entire spine and front cover (the others are discolored on only the spines and edges). The covers are also rubbed and worn, with the spine ends ragged-looking. Blue colored pencil notation on first blank page of volume 1. However, the text is unmarked save for mild, occasional foxing, and the pages' surfaces are unaffected by the smoke-staining. Binding shaken in volumes 1 and 3, but tight enough for reading purposes; binding tighter in volume 2. Suitable only as reading copies. Illustrated with black and white plates. Fair .
