Pages 71-74 coming loose. Scattered pencil marginalia, but most text unmarked. A worn but readable copy. A scarce book by Julian Joseph Overbeck (1820-1905), a proponent of Western Rite Orthodoxy. Originally a Catholic priest, Overbeck converted to Lutheranism and then to Eastern Orthodoxy. He believed that Orthodoxy was destined to replace both Catholicism and Anglicanism in the West, and he worked to adapt Eastern Rite liturgical forms for use in England. Fair .
