Includes four issues of HERESY: "Bad Bishop Brown's" Quarterly Lectures, no. 1, "The American Race Problem" (2 copies), no. 2, "The Pope's Crusade against the Soviet Union," and no. 3, "The Science of Moscow and the Superstition of Rome," all published in 1930; THE BANKRUPTCY OF CHRISTIAN SUPERNATURALISM, with 2 copies of volume I in different editions (1928 and 1930), and volumes II, III, V, and VI (1930-31); and COMMUNISM AND CHRISTIANISM (no date, ca. 1930). One of the issues of HERESY, "The American Race Problem," is dampstained. The other issues of HERESY are just lightly rubbed on the spines. Each volume of THE BANKRUPTCY OF CHRISTIAN SUPERNATURALISM has a tanned and crinkled spine. COMMUNISM AND CHRISTIANISM has a creased spine, light edgewear, and a note in pen on the back cover. All booklets have clean text and secure binding. William Montgomery Brown (1855-1937), sometimes called "Bad Bishop Brown," was an Episcopal clergyman who came to reject orthodox Christian teaching and embrace Communism. He was desposed for heresy and finished out his days as a bishop of the Old Catholic Church. .
