Description: Hallowell, ME, Glazier & Co, 1826. Leather. 582p. REBOUND. A hardcover book rebacked with a new leather spine and fresh endpapers, retaining the original brown leather boards. Light rub marks on cover and corners a bit shelf-worn. Bottom corner torn off page 277-278. All pages browned and foxed with age. The gutter and bottom corner of the page block are dampstained from the beginning through about page 60. Otherwise, text clean and binding tight. A sturdy, readable copy in very good condition, attractive on a bookshelf. An early printing of the Federalist Papers in which the author of each essay is identified. Prior to 1818, the authors remained anonymous. .
