Contains Zabriskie's personal bookplate on which he has inscribed the book to Getrude Healy. This exquisite book measures 4.5 x 6.5 inches. Full black leather with floral designs in gilt, red, and green on covers, two raised hubs on spine, marbled endpapers. Binding is in fine condition. Interior pages show an old waterstain across the top edge, fanning out from the gutter. Zabriskie was a prominent book collector, binder, author, and antiquarian when he wasn't busy with high positions in both the private/public sectors of the baking industry. He was a member of both the Grolier Club and the American Antiquarian Society. Both Herbert Hoover and Thomas Streeter served as pall bearers at his funeral. .
