Richly engraved title-page printed in red and black; Engraved coat of arms on leaf 2. The indices are on bible verses and thematical. Later half calf with marbled covers, gilt lettering on spine. Good copy. Mailorder only - Alleen verzending mogelijk. Book condition : very good. Mixed set of an important work by the Portugese Jesuit Francisco de Mendoça (1572-1626), his commentary on the first and second book of Kings. It consists of the first German edition (1628) of volumes 1 and 2, and the Lyon edition from 1631 for volume 3. The German volume 3 became available in 1632. Hurter I, 606v; De Backer-Sommervogel V, 900. Not in BCNI. Shelf mark on first free endpaper. Occasional browning as usual with the German paper of the period. Some marginal worming, with loss of a few letters. Some marginal waterstains. Spine ends slightly damaged
