Contains 120 meditative essays on biblical passages concerning christ' suffering, intended as contemplation for priests and pious believers. Interesting that the author refers to the various reals disasters people had been suffering from at the time of writing and before: cold winters, the famine of 1740, the war of succession, epidemies (Vol. II, 34-36.) Bindings moderately worn (mainly edges and spine ends); small stamp on title and flyleaf, a few unobtrusive waterstains, label volume 4 partly gone else solid, clean and very good. Not in OCLC.
